It all begins with an idea.
Most folks are shocked when I tell them I decided to get into this business after hiring local forestry companies to work on my own land.
My dissatisfaction with that experience led me to begin renting the machines to do the work myself. This ultimately led to an awakening and gave rise to Omega Environmental Partners.
Many people are also shocked to learn that Georgia is the number one timber producing State in the lower 48. Take a drive in a rural area and you can’t avoid passing large tracts that have been clear-cut and left in ruin without any replanting or erosion control, this is due to the logging industry being largely unregulated.
Then on the other hand, you have the land clearing clearing industry, they remove all trees in a tract and none of the prime hardwoods or soft woods ever make it to a saw mill for processing and use. They usually end up in a grinder or a burn pile.
We have to do better, and that is one of the many ways Omega Environmental Partners is working to turn the tide.
